Top 15 filers of imported general cosmetics
In the past year, more than 1,400 enterprises participated in the filing of imported general cosmetics. Among them, LG H&H topped the list in terms of filing volume, followed closely by internationally renowned enterprises such as Dior and Chanel.
What’s more, the top 15 enterprises in terms of filing volume accounted for about 22% of the total filing volume, showing the important position of these industry leaders in the market.
Imported general cosmetic filing in each province
As for filing province distribution, 65% of the imported general cosmetics completed the filing in Shanghai, followed by Guangdong, Beijing, and Zhejiang.
Top 15 production enterprises of imported general cosmetics
In terms of production enterprises, more than 1,800 enterprises participated in producing imported general cosmetics, among which LG H&H also ranked first in the production number of filed products, followed by Estee Lauder, Dior, and other enterprises.
According to statistics, the number of filed products produced by the top 15 enterprises accounted for 23% of the total number of filed products.
Place of origin of imported general cosmetics
About 23% of imported general cosmetics were produced in South Korea, followed by France with about 22%. Compared to 2022, some countries such as Pakistan and Portugal did not continue to produce new imported products, while enterprises from the United Arab Emirates, Ireland, and Austria participated in producing imported cosmetics in 2023.
Production mode of imported general cosmetics
The production mode of imported general cosmetics was mostly based on OEM/ODM, with overseas production entrusted by overseas enterprises occupying 68%, self-production by filers accounting for 27%, and overseas production entrusted by domestic enterprises accounting for about 5%.
Efficacy categories and site of action of imported general cosmetics
From the perspective of efficacy categories, moisturizers were firmly in the first place, with make-up cosmetics and perfume products performing well. Facial products accounted for 41%, while hair and eye products had a relatively low share.

Commonly used preservatives in imported general cosmetics
