2024 National Cosmetics Sampling and Inspection Annual Report

NMPA is problem-oriented and focuses on regulatory priorities, focusing on high-risk cosmetics and companies, and increasing the intensity of random inspections in key areas and places. It organized random inspections of 12 categories of cosmetics, including acne-removing, toothpaste, general skin care, makeup, freckle removal and whitening, and children's products, with a total of 21,362 batches inspected. After inspections by 33 cosmetics inspection agencies in accordance with the "Cosmetic Safety Technical Specifications" (2015 edition), 20,889 batches of products were qualified, accounting for 97.79%.

MPA of each province (autonomous region, municipality) has conducted investigations on the producers and operators involved in the unqualified products in the random inspections. If any violation is found, it will be severely investigated and punished, and those suspected of committing crimes will be transferred to the public security organs. Among the 12 types of cosmetics sampled, the qualified batches of six categories of cosmetics, including acne-removing, toothpaste, general skin care, makeup, freckle removal and whitening, and children's cosmetics, accounted for more than 99%.
